He is Shaykh al-Sayyid Abd al-Qadir b. Abdullah b. Qasim b. Muhammad b. Isa Azizi al-Halabi al-Shadhili, rahimahullah, (d. 1312 H/1991 CE). He was born in the city of Aleppo (Syria) in the year 1338 hijri to two righteous parents. His lineage goes back to Shaykh 'Umar al-Ba'aj upwards to the grandson of the Messenger of Allah, ?, Al-Husayn bin 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him.

He was one of the revivers of the Sufi tradition in the Levant. In a time of gross materialism and imported profane ideologies into the Arab world, Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir ‘Isa provided the keys for a reclamation of Islam’s spiritual riches and revived the spiritual path, imparting guidance and instruction to scores of people from all strata of society.
